Common Service Centres (CSCs) are part of the Government of Indiaโs Digital India program, designed to provide essential public services, financial assistance, and digital empowerment to citizens, especially in rural and semi-urban areas. Established under the National e-Governance Plan, CSCs work as access points that connect people with government and private sector services in a simple, affordable, and efficient way.
Each CSC is operated by a Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE), ensuring that local communities have direct access to services without traveling far. These centres are equipped with digital infrastructure and trained professionals to support citizens in their everyday needs.
Through CSCs, people can avail services like Aadhaar enrolment and updates, PAN card and voter ID applications, pension and insurance schemes, and utility bill payments. They also provide banking, financial inclusion, and digital literacy programs such as PMGDISHA, ensuring that individuals and families stay connected to the benefits of modern technology.
Beyond government schemes, CSCs also offer services like mobile recharges, ticket bookings, telemedicine, e-commerce support, and legal advice through Tele-Law. In this way, CSCs are not just service points but also catalysts for digital empowerment, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth across India.
